CHECKS. REALLY??

If you happen to find yourself in the grocery store checkout line and, for some silly reason, decide writing a check is the best method of payment here are some tips that will help you and reduce the frustration of your fellow shoppers.

1. As soon as all of the groceries are unloaded onto the conveyor belt start looking for your checkbook.  For some reason this odd shaped item seems to be tough to locate.

2. Rather than reading all the garbage plastered on the front of the tabloids how 'bout you start filling out your check.  You already know the majority of information you need to include...your name, the date, and the store name can all be filled out before all your groceries are scanned and bagged.

3.  You know that there needs to be some ID presented with this old-fashioned payment method.  Here's an idea...hand the check and ID to the cashier at the same time...why slow things down and make them ask for you to prove your identity.

4.  If you're someone who records the amount, date, and location of every check fill out the register in your car rather than at the checkout counter.

5.  Do yourself a favor and get a debit card...it's 2014 you know.
