IN CASE YOU FORGOT

What non-stormy and crappy weather looks like.  Here are two pictures to jog your memory.
Almost forgot how much I like the lil' guy.

Now that you remember how awesome it is...get outside and do something!

DALLAS PICS, FINALLY!

See, I told you that I was going to post pictures.

The Grassy Knoll

This is about where JFK was when he got shot...notice the steep angle to the top window.
Top window on the right is where the shots that killed JFK came from...supposedly.

FREE STUFF

When you spend over 7 hours sittin' on these bad boys and you are flying on an airline that has a conscious, you get a free round trip ticket to almost anywhere in the US of A or to a handful of Caribbean island countries...I've got 12 months to figure out where my next adventure is going to be.

TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY

So far today has consisted of tasting the finest bottled brew from St. Louis, Atlanta, and Florida.  Two out of the three were sampled from an exaggeratedly expensive airport bar and one from a private pool.  Guess which one tasted the best.

Also, a big thank you to JH for the love on his blog.

And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the pictures from Dallas which I'm sure you're all dying to see.

SHOOT PAUL

This is an awesome site and a great way to spend time when you're on the world wide web.

Go  here to see for yourself!

Shoot Paul

I'M BACK

Dallas was a cool city, and I wish I had more time to explore, but it was a quick trip.  Now don't be all like, "I can't believe he didn't even take pictures to show us...what's his problem?"  Because my good friends, I did take pictures, I just haven't posted them.  Remember, good things come to those who wait.  Plus, I forgot my cord at home, and can't post them at the moment.

After visiting the JFK museum, my preconceived notions that the whole thing was a conspiracy were not dispelled, but rather strengthened.  It was very interesting to see, but kinda eerie at the same time.

NOT TOO SHABBY

Of a way to spend a Monday afternoon.
First time on dirt trails for the year...an added bonus that I saw Ol' Muddy.

RIDERS ON THE STORM

Batten down the hatches...supposed to be some bad ones today.

VICTORY IS MINE

I realize this didn't happen today, but I don't score victories like this very often, so I just had to post these pictures.

Leaky Pipes 0; Yours Truly 1

What was in the basement hanging out of the ceiling...and yes, that black thing under the pipe is the top of a rubber made 30 gallon trash can perched on top of a rickety ladder to catch the drips.

Thought this handy-dandy PVC pipe would fix the massive leak.  It did not.

On to stage 2. At this point there are no holes in the wall but there is a leak in the basement.  By this time, I have decided the leak is not in the basement but is in the bathroom upstairs...hiding somewhere behind these fine walls.

Looking for the leak...although hole 1 and 2 were fun to make, they didn't reveal the leak.

Found it...hole #3 is the winner. Leak found.
3 massive holes in the wall, but a dry basement.  Good-bye trash can on ladder; hello dry floor.

You might be wondering where the pictures of the patched wall are...well, there are none.  Not because I ran out of film, but because we're an efficient couple and we're going to re-do the bathroom in the future.  Who wants to patch 3 good size holes only to tear out the new handy work in the near future?  Not this guy.

For your ears and feet

Just found this site and think it is a great idea.
What's worse than running when you don't want to?  Running when you don't want to and having to listen to the same playlist you've had for the past 3 months.

To fix that pesky problem, check out this site.

Fish are a' Fryin'

It is Friday at 4:30 p.m. and you're in a small town filled with old people.  Where is the most hoppin' place in town?  The church fish fry of course.  That's right, by 5:00 p.m., I, along with about 55 other people (all over the age of 72) had already eaten dinner.  So, while all of you were just getting off work and heading for happy hour or a patio to take advantage of the nice weather, I was already done eating.  Suckers.  But, I really did enjoy spending time with my grandma, so it was all worth it.  The way I look at it, I will probably have more opportunities to enjoy nice weather or go to a bar than spend time with her, so it was totally worth it.  Plus, since dinner was done by 5:00, I still had plenty of time to take advantage of the weather.

This weekend was the first time I turned on my AC for the year.  I'm all too happy keep the heat off for as long as possible in the winter, because by my logic, it doesn't cost a dime to put on a sweatshirt or two.  But the first time I get even the slightest feeling of getting warm and have any questions about the windows being able to cut it, I turn on the AC.  You're welcome power company.

Other noteworthy events consisted of getting a lot of wedding stuff done, having dual exhaust put on the truck, and learning that Sonics have good lime slushies (although I've yet to prove this statement personally), and making a homemade pizza.  Overall a nice lil' weekend.

Time Saver

If you're super important like I am and don't have a minute to waste, this little trick will help.
*I've never tried it, so keep that in mind.

No Winner...No Chicken Dinner

The results were announced and no, yours truly didn't win a trip.  I guess you could say that I'm still a "winner" because I lost the weight, but honestly, that sounds like loser talk to me.

On to happy news, it is sunny outside and it is almost the weekend...plus I get my hairs cut today, so it has got to be a good day.

No News Monday

Even though I kept my fingers crossed really tight all weekend, I did not recieve a call saying that I was a winner of the weight loss contest.  On the upside, I did not get a call saying that I didn't win either.  Keep those fingers crossed for tomorrow.
